Why this one matters.
“Julien Duranville's 2023-24 Topps Chrome UCC rookie card exists in exactly one copy — this gold vinyl Superfractor 1/1, #191, slabbed PSA 8. The photograph shows a 17-year-old in Dortmund yellow, the RC shield in the corner and the 1/1 hand-stamped beside the BVB badge: the kind of card that is bought on the expectation of a career, not the resume of one. Duranville arrived in Germany at the beginning of 2023, signed from Anderlecht at just 16, where he had already become one of the most talked-about teenagers in the Belgian production line. The card's back, printed with HT 1.70m, WT 59kg, DOB 05-05-2006 and squad no. 16, describes exactly what Dortmund scouted: a midfielder whose first touch and close control let him keep the ball under intense pressure, and whose explosive dribbling speed is a major asset in one-versus-one situations. It is a skill profile Dortmund has repeatedly turned into stardom — Signal Iduna Park is the finishing school that polished Sancho, Haaland and Bellingham before the world's biggest clubs came calling, and Duranville joined the same conveyor belt as one of Belgium's most gifted young players. A rookie superfractor is the most aggressive position a collector can take on a teenager: the single copy of his first flagship Champions League card, issued in the season Dortmund marched to the 2024 UCL final at Wembley. If the trajectory holds, this is where the story starts.”
